It has recently come to my attention that I look extremely young. I am almost 32, recently remarried, and expecting my third child within a month. People are always asking if this is my first, I explain this is my third child and when asked the ages of my other two, 12 and 14, I always get the same response. “You’re kidding! How old are you? Were you 12 when you had your first?” Yes, I was young with my first, 17, but I continue to get carded when I attempt to purchase anything with an age limit.
I have also seen topical ointments that claim to rid the skin of skin tags, warts, etc. The problem I see with these are skin tags and warts are too very different conditions. Warts are caused by a virus, skin tags are an overgrowth of skin cells caused typically by hormonal changes, thus the reason many women find they appear during pregnancy. I would never want to treat a hormonal issue with a medication meant to kill a virus. Plus, I wouldn't think it safe to use something like that while pregnant as nothing seems to be a safe bet anymore.
In part one, I talked about the acne that plagued my face and all of the ways I tried to get rid of it. I finally get my skin looking fresh and radiant and along comes the patchy blotchy skin! I had worked months to get rid of the pigmentation I had gotten from laying in a tanning bed daily for 2 years straight! Creams, peels, exfoliation, microdermabrasion, you name it, I got it! 4 months pregnant, and it was back with a vengeance. The only difference this time? There is absolutely nothing I can do about it until I deliver and am finished nursing. Almost all lightening products on the market contain one ingredient or another that is unsafe while pregnant or nursing. In this case, I had to relearn how to cover and camouflage the issue. If you’re like I have been during this pregnancy, the last thing I have felt like doing is putting on a full face of makeup to cover up all of my dark spots. I have found a few easy applications to camouflage more than cover!
I have been busy putting in pink extensions and selling pink accessories for Breast Cancer Awareness! This is an awesome way to help raise awareness of the disease and support a friend/client of mine in the process. Don't forget to call or message to book your individual appointment or your event soon! We have two weeks left until October is over! Let's make one final push to help support a great woman!
As a cosmetologist, I have been trained not only in hair but skin and nails as well. I have always had a love of skincare and have used many different lines to try to find the perfect line for me. Finally, I have found a company with distributors who love their line and are very passionate about it! This is the best kind of company! I am super excited to announce that I am now a distributor with Nuskin!
Along with the many joys of being pregnant, come the woes. We all know what I'm talking about. The blotchy skin, weird breakouts, odd skin tag growths etc. The worst part is, most of what really works to cure these problems are not safe to use while pregnant. As a cosmetologist, I am used to using many harsh products to keep my skin in top shape. I love a good chemical peel or acne medication that can kill the problem within a couple days and bring my skin back to it’s clear porceline completion I am used to having. It has been many years since I was pregnant so I forgot how many of my favorite products would become off limits. I have been working most of my pregnancy battling one issue after another.
