In part one, I talked about the acne that plagued my face and all of the ways I tried to get rid of it. I finally get my skin looking fresh and radiant and along comes the patchy blotchy skin! I had worked months to get rid of the pigmentation I had gotten from laying in a tanning bed daily for 2 years straight! Creams, peels, exfoliation, microdermabrasion, you name it, I got it! 4 months pregnant, and it was back with a vengeance. The only difference this time? There is absolutely nothing I can do about it until I deliver and am finished nursing. Almost all lightening products on the market contain one ingredient or another that is unsafe while pregnant or nursing. In this case, I had to relearn how to cover and camouflage the issue. If you’re like I have been during this pregnancy, the last thing I have felt like doing is putting on a full face of makeup to cover up all of my dark spots. I have found a few easy applications to camouflage more than cover!

I have a pressed mineral powder concealer by Laura Gellar that is marbled with a few different tones. This helps to battle uneven skin tone by swirling around all the different tones. The best part with this is, it literally takes me 2 minutes to cover my face and go! My second go to, for days when I feel like the splotchiness is super noticeable has been a tricolor bronzer by Too Faced called Pink Leopard Blushing Bronzer. This bronzer has a pink, light bronze and slightly darker brown all in one compact. I have used it a couple different ways. On some days, I just swirl it around and go out the door, others, I will use both the powder foundation and the bronzer for more coverage. These two tips have helped me make it through a quick trip to the grocery store or even on the days when I just have to run in to the shop for one appointment on my regular day off or on the days where I really just don’t feel like taking more than a couple minutes to get myself together and go. The idea behind both of these products is camouflaging the issue until it can be taken care of. These are both quick and easy steps to blend away the splotchiness rather than doing a full on cover up every day. Next week, I will discuss the dreaded skin tag and different ways to deal with those! Don't forget to come back and check it out!
